Planning for SDN: What You Need to Know

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) has entered not just the networking stage but the entire datacenter with a lot of fanfare. Its benefits of more flexible control, lower capex and opex (though automation and orchestration), and (much) higher datacenter utilization have attracted enterprises, cloud providers, and telecom operators. In this talk we will offer a brief overview of SDN, highlight some of the most promising use cases, and describe the structure and state of the movement. We plan to leave you with the key questions you and your staff will want to explore in 2014 to capitalize on this groundbreaking phenomenon.
