Fremont, Calif. – January 6, 2012 – TELADATA, a leading consulting firm specializing in IT infrastructure design, planning and project management, today announced that its 2012 Technology Convergence Conference will restore its popular track focused on IT and facilities integration.

The IT, Facilities & Data Centers track will feature presentations, panel discussions and end-user case studies relating to trends in data-center design, management and virtualization.  This track (one of four at the conference) will highlight the growing importance of - and the range of approaches to - the integration of IT and facilities management.

Naeem Masqud, Director of IT at Sybase, will deliver a presentation titled Virtualized Deployment for SAP CRM, a case study on leveraging server and storage virtualization in the rapid deployment of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems across heterogeneous environments.

Andrew Dailey, Managing Director at MGI Research, will moderate a panel discussion on security concerns surrounding the adoption of public and private cloud services in a presentation titled Pros and Cons of Private vs. Public Cloud.
Jay Park, Director of Data Center Design, Facilities and Operations at Facebook, and Marco Magarelli, Data Center Design Engineering Manager at Facebook, will co-deliver a presentation titled Facebook Data Center Design, a case study highlighting the design and implementation of one of the company’s largest data center projects to date under a string of unique constraints and deadlines.

Corban Lester, Program Development Manager at Lockheed Martin, will be joined by Saket Karajgikar, Consulting Engineering Supervisor at Future Facilities, to deliver a presentation titled Reclaiming Stranded Capacity through Integrated IT & Facilities Management.

“Ignoring the impact of IT operations on the facility is a recipe for stranding data-center capacity,” said Lester.  “Integrated facility and IT management is the only solution to this problem.”

Orlando Castro, Program Manager Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, will host a panel discussion titled Computer Room Airflow Management Strategies, which will provide insight on how Kaiser Permanente achieved its goal of improving computer room air distribution efficiency.

“We look forward to seeing these topics evolve each year,” said Maricel Cerruti, Director of Marketing for TELADATA. “The forum allows professionals to start thinking about ways to improve collaboration among managers of IT, data centers and facilities.”

TELADATA’s Technology Convergence Conference focuses on providing an environment where IT, facilities and telecommunications professionals can assemble to exchange ideas and best practices relating to the latest technologies in data centers, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, audio-visual systems and monitoring. Expert speakers and resources offer delegates critical information and in-the-trenches tactics to deal effectively with key issues affecting facilities and data centers.
